My husband and I stayed one night over Easter. The exterior of the hotel is absolutely stunning against the mourne mountains backdrop. Inside it is full of charm and warmth this extends to the wonderful staff who were friendly, courteous and helpful. We stayed in room 8 which has a balcony looking straight into the mournes. Think Narnia meets Wuthering Heights. It was just like stepping back in time and if you are the creative type who needs peace, tranquility and inspiration this is the place for you. The Eniskeen has something special that other hotels don't have in that the very air drifting in through the balcony door is healing and rejuvenating. There are beautiful grounds and the loveliest walk down to the river which really lifts your heart. There is nothing corporate or pretentious (thankfully) about this absolutely gem. The breakfast was lovely with a great selection again in a timeless setting with some of the most amazing views in Ireland. I can't rate this wonderful hotel highly enough and genuinely did not want to leave

Quaint, family run hotel on the outskirts of Newcastle. Gets busy around teatime so book a table if you're going to the restaurant The grounds are lovely and there's a "River Trail" which I really enjoyed. If you have mobility issues be aware the path is narrow and steep at times. There are garden chairs around the hotel and a bench overlooking a meadow garden.

Such a lovely tranquil place. The sense of being able to just relax. My first visit. Sat outside, table service and looking out at a peaceful, amazing and unspoiled view of the Mournes. Homely but very professional. A pleasant surprise for me as I don't live that far away. The owners should be very proud of that haven....
